There is no doubt that the combat sports world has been on fire since the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor Fight had been made official. Initial reactions were mixed, with a majority of people in the boxing world saying this fight was a farce, and an embarrassment to the sport. On the MMA side it was more of a mixed bag, some saying that it was a silly money grab, and some true believers thinking that McGregor has a legit chance of doing the unthinkable and beating Mayweather.

The Mayweather Long Con

Much of the hesitation from the traditional boxing world comes from the fact that Mayweather has fooled people in the sport of boxing time after time to pay money to watch him fight. Time after time Mayweather laughs in their faces when it’s all said and done, flaunting 100 Million Dollar paydays, and putting on what many call “boring defensive fights”.

The Facts of Mayweather vs McGregor

The facts are these: Conor McGregor 0-0 , although a great Fighter in the world of MMA, has never had a professional boxing fight, and he is facing Floyd Mayweather who is 49-0, and regarded as the best boxer of this generation.

Mayweather keeps telling the media that he is old, and he is after all, 40 years old. That McGregor is young, hits hard, moves great, and is very dangerous. All of these things combined has traditional Boxing Media scared to fall for ANOTHER Floyd Mayweather Con.

Remember The Mayweather vs Pacquiao Aftermath?

After years of fans and media screaming for this fight, it finally happened. After 12 rounds, Fans, media, and everyone who paid $100 to watch felt a little cheated or at the very least let down. In short, a lot of people felt like they got conned again by Floyd Mayweather.

Here we are again, this fight is already expected to break the May vs Pac PPV Record, and it is bringing Boxing and MMA Fans together. The four city world tour is drawing crowds of over 20,000 people, just to hear these two guys speak for a few minutes.

The questions remains, does McGregor really stand a chance? OR are we all falling for another Mayweather Con?
